Desert Daze 2021 – Meet the Musicians! – “Rio Samaya” and “Paisley Groove”

Meet the Musicians is a series of blogs designed to help you get a bit more acquainted with people you will be performing at the 2021 Desert Daze Music Festival….

Rio Samaya

It has been a few years since Desert Daze has presented this wonderful band, and we are delighted that they can join us this year!

The Rio Samaya Band is roots blended folk music from South America. A family band which grooves to your senses.

Based in Vancouver, the Rio Samaya Band is made up of Pancho and Sal, partners in life as well as in music, which is full of wonderfully enchanting Latin rhythms and romantic melodies in Spanish including  Italian, English and French songs. Pancho and Sal are joined by their daughter, dancer and multi-instrumentalist Ja Pace.

Pancho and Sal created the “Rio Samaya Band” with the concept and project to tour Canada and the world like a duo and build up the band joining with local musicians using the  Rio Samaya Band signature to reach as many communities as possible, and share the music with other artists to record their original compositions.

With a style that flows through the folkloric traditions of Central and South America,  Rio Samaya music beats to the natural pulse of our planet, writing and blending it with elements of folk, rock, country, reggae, Latin and rhumba gypsy rhythms.

Pancho is born in Argentina and Sal is born in England, together they create a vortex of energy, love, and happiness that can be experienced in their live presentation.
Rio Samaya will be performing on both days of the 2021 festival! Catch them on Friday September 10 at 5:00 pm and on Saturday at 4:30 pm.

Parties, dances, fundraisers and conferences, outdoor concerts or back yard BBQ’s and house parties, no gig is too big or too small for Paisley Groove

These guys will be igniting the dance floor (well, lawn really) on Friday September 10 starting 11:00 pm. For more information about Paisley Groove check out their website
