Following on the heels of the BC Government’s recent announcement of its “BC Restart Plan”, the Spences Bridge Desert Daze Music Festival is thrilled to announce that they will be hosting a “live” festival for 2021!
In order to take full advantage of the forecasted timeline as presented in the “Restart Plan” the Desert Daze planning committee has opted to move the festival forward one month from its usual 2nd weekend in August. The 2021 Desert Daze Music Festival take place this year on the weekend of September 10 & 11 at the former Spences Bridge Elementary School grounds. This date comes just days after the (forecasted) projection in the BC Restart Plan that significant numbers of people will be allowed to gather at outdoor events and festivals with a minimal risk to each other and with few (if any) Covid-19 protocols in place.
However, at the time of the September 10 launch of the festival if some Covid-19 Safety protocols are still mandated, Desert Daze will surely do all it can at that time to comply. It is our primary concern that all musicians, artists and artisans, volunteers and patrons of the “Best Little Fest in the West” enjoy their experience as safely as possible.
As many are aware, due to the ongoing pandemic in the summer of 2020, the Desert Daze Festival was presented “virtually” by the production of and streaming of videoed performances of 10 outstanding local artists at 10 iconic and historic places and venues in and around Spences Bridge. This offering was well received by our friends and patrons all over BC and beyond, but the hard truth of the matter is simply this … the experience of watching a musical performance on screen does not a festival make!
The actual music performers, workshops and other program events for the 2021 festival are still being worked out, but there will certainly be a variety of first-rate entertainment, workshops and local merchandise presented to please just about everybody, and which makes the Desert Daze Festival such a charming and unique celebration of local art, music, culture, horticulture and history. Watch for further announcements appearing on the Spences Bridge Desert Daze Facebook page and other social media platforms and news outlets.
MANY THANKS TO OUR WONDERFUL SPONSORS FOR HELPING MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
