The small but dedicated and passionate group of people who make up the organizing committee for the Desert Daze Music Festival met on the evening of December 7 to begin the process of bringing to life the 9th(!!) annual Desert Daze Festival.
Over a candlelit dinner the group discussed such issues as increasing the use and efficiency of Social Media in promoting and presenting the festival, exploring ways and means of creating an environment in which a greater and more meaningful inclusion of the contribution of our local Indigenous culture can be encouraged, and possibly acquiring a custom designed canopy/tent to cover our stage. In past years we have been spreading a tarp over the stage. It has worked, but has its limitations. We are hoping to step up our game when it comes setting up the staging for the festival – including perhaps incorporating a huge outdoor theater screen!
