LADYBUG the RALadybug_the_RamblerMBLER

Playing and rambling her way around Canada, Ladybug the Rambler (Clover Abeel) has a unique and powerful singing style that lulls audiences into a world of where crows wear cummerbunds and the trees tell you which way to go next….

Think of the place where music meets unfettered joy and the living traditions of Africa. This is the birthplace of Kara-Kata’s sound. They engage the audience somewhere between the heart and the soles of the feet. It is impossible to resist the temptation to move and be moved. Watching Kara Kata is to be possessed by the spirit of Fela and the African Continent.

Award winner and JUNO award nominee, Angela Harris grew up in the rustic rural Chilcotin region of BC, Canada and currently resides on the North Shore of Vancouver, BC.

Bluegrass power-trio singing songs of sin and salvation. Woody Bell, Jr. on mandolin, Lordy Mama on guitar, and Sparky Spurr on upright bass.

An awesome and supremely dance-able blues/rock cover band from Kamloops.

A perennial fan favorite at Desert Daze.  This foursome from Ashcroft, B.C. performs an eclectic mix of original music with a Latin/Afro/Brazilian/Cuban flavor infused with a dash of jazz and pop influences.

A Merritt, BC local country and western band. Specializes in older country, western and outlaw music.

  Flat_BustedFLAT BUSTED

This sister duo hail all the way from beautiful downtown Spences Bridge!  They deliver a sweetly harmonious take on popular songs from the 50’s and 60’s.  Talk about fan favorites!  The Desert Daze Music Festival would not be the same without them!

  Rio_SamayaRIO SAMAYA

Pancho and Sal are based in Vancouver.

Playing with gypsies in the south of France, Pancho learned rumbas and flamenco.  His compositions reflect these influences of flamenco and other folk rhythms.  After years of exchange with other musician, his original music has a wide diversity of syles.

Sal, who was born in England but raised in Canada, met Pancho in Cuzco, Peru and from then on together as a family and musical duo have established a name for themselves.  Sal compliments the music with her vocals,  accordion,  shakers, chachas, bombo and guitar.

“Hayling” from Portland, Oregan, Hayley thrilled us all during her debut performance at last years Desert Daze Festival.  We are so pleased to have her back to again be treated to her delightful and lyrical vocal styling!

Jennifer resides just outside of Cache Creek with her husband on their humble little hobby farm of horses. Jennifer’s passions include many things, mainly horses, music and medicine. She is currently a horse-back riding coach, a trail guide and is now in the midst of studying for her diploma in nursing in Kamloops BC.

Jennifer is going to play songs that suggest a life such as hers; representing colour, adventure, life-lessons and freedom.

murfitt&mainMURFITT AND MAIN

Murfitt & Main plumb the depths of country, bluegrass, and western swing, playing handcrafted songs steeped in the living tradition of roots music.

Warren Murfitt and Kate Main’s original songs are imbued with a pragmatic sophistication, and clarity that don’t abide pretense – real music, rooted in the musical traditions of rural North America, in a contemporary voice. Heartbreak, honky-tonks, whiskey, unions, religion, the Canadian terrain, and the Berlin wall are all fair game in their songwriting.

Stay tuned and check back soon!  Lots more to come!
